THE ROAD HOME
It has been a wonderful and fun filled journey. But our nine months of touring are coming to an end- we left Santa Fe and took a slow roll north toward Denver. Our first stop was @ Ojo Caliente (our favorite hot springs in New Mexico).
In addition to the hot springs pools, restaurant and lodging, Ojo has a small campground, hiking trails and a labyrinth.
A second day of driving took us to Salida,CO.
We stayed a couple of days and took a hike on the trails of Tenderfoot Mountain.
After this short respite we carried on to Denver for a long weekend visiting our friends Roger, Barbara and Genevifka. We also spent a day downtown @ the art museum.
On to St. Louis! But first there was that drive through Kansas...
We had a very interesting campsite in St. Louis. It was a first for us- camping in a casino parking lot. The location gave us great walking access to downtown. It was right across the river from the arch!
With spring in the air we couldn't help but visit the world famous Missouri Botanical Gardens.
We dropped the Tincan off at the Airstream factory for some routine maintenance and booked to Chicago for a week of family fun.
Forty thousand strong at the March For Science in Chicago.
What a good thing to enjoy a week of babysitting young Rebekah and visiting with family. (She wore us out!)
An added bonus was watching Paul play a concert!!!
