OREGON SOUTH COAST
Bandon is a small coastal town just south of the Oregon dune area. We spent a few days camped at Bullards Bay State Park so we could drive along the coast in search of beach treasure.
Of course not everything that washes up on the beach is seaweed... we saw several sculptures that a local artist has made from the flotsom of the sea.

Bandon is a pretty cool little town with friendly people, a Saturday farmers market, coffee shops and fish restaurants. We bought local cranberries and squash@ the market and slurped down a delicious cioppino before setting out to explore the rocky coast.
This really interesting rainbow of mist showed up along the harbor- almost completely obscuring the lighthouse. The fog horn blared constantly and the mist crept around like a stray cat looking for a home.
With all that fog it was difficult to get an Ocean View but somehow we managed.
We followed the arrow to an ocean overlook in time to see a pod of Grey Whales feeding in the harbor. It was a great start to the day.
From Bandon to Brookings, this section of the coast didn't disappoint.
It was time to move on so we went toward California in search of big trees and more green.
