WORLD OF SOUND
One of the more unusual museums in the area is the Musical Instrument Museum(MIM). The museum houses a trove of instruments from around the world, organized by continent and country. You walk through the exhibits wearing headphones and a transponder that is synced to video and audio of music performed with the instruments you are looking at. In addition to the permanent collection they have special exhibits. This trip it was "Dragons and Vines", an exhibit of inlay applied to guitars. Unbelievable artistry. It's impossible to see everything in one visit- last year we ran out of time- this year we started with exhibits we missed last year.

We finished the day with a concert in the museum's intimate theater. It was great to see John Scofield, Larry Goldings, Bill Stewart and Vicente Archer play selections from the Grammy winning album "Country for Old Men".
