USERY REGIONAL PARK
For the last few years when we travel to Phoenix we've made our camp north of the city outside Fountain Hills at McDowell Mt. Regional Park. This time we decided to try another regional park in Mesa east of the city. Our brief stay has us loving this park, plenty of hiking and biking.
The view from the Tincan's door.
It's been an interesting stay. The weather has been cool, 50's and 60's and wet. It's kind of like being in a cloud...

When the weather doesn't cooperate we look for indoor activities. Phoenix has lots to choose from. We ended up spending part of a day checking out the Phoenix Art Museum.

A New Republic
There was a very cool exhibit of Avant-Garde fashion from the 1970's-90's. All the big names that got their start during this period were representeted: Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake, Norma Kamali etc. There were lots of videos of runway shows which were spectacles of lights and fantastical costumes.
And there was a room filled with balloons...called Half the Air in a Given Space by Martin Creed. (Fun to play in)

A short distance from camp was the popular Wind Cave Trail. We arrived early to beat the crowds.

One last hike and it's on to California.
