DEATH VALLEY DAZE
Death Valley as seen from
Dante's View
This is our second visit to Death Valley. The unique geology, surreal landscapes and hiking brought us back. It is place of extremes- Badwater Basin (282 ft below sea level) is directly below Dante's View (5476 ft above sea level).
Stark landscapes are punctuated by color shifts and shadow as the day progresses.
Pat on Zabriski Point at sunset.
We love wandering through the many canyons found throughout the valley.
It was in this wash that Pat walked backwards into a boulder and wrenched her back and twisted her knee- "that's the last time I'll admire the view while walking in a boulder strewn wash! Duh... although I continued the 7 mile hike, I paid for it the next day."
....But oh my what a view!!!
